Mike Ashley

I’m a senior director of research and development at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, currently leading flow cytometry R&D supporting one of our two business units. Previously I managed automation, genomics, and centrifugation. My principal interest is in synthetic biology: automating the design-built-test-learn cycle using software and robots.

Outside of work, I am interested in simple and independent living.

You can keep up with what I’m thinking about through my blog and my reading list.

Many years ago I was an academic computer scientist. I have copies of some of my publications from that time.
