This was a surprisingly busy year, and I didn’t get to read as much as I wanted. I changed jobs at the end of 2023, picking up the Bioinformatics R&D team at IDT and then in mid-2024, I moved to the VP R&D position at IDT. I also moved from Indiana to Colorado to work from the IDT Boulder office. Finally, with that move I joined my partner, Nicole.
I read a few books on retirement, but I didn’t find any of them especially notworthy and omitted them from this list. I’m in the early stages of retirement planning, so I wanted to know if there would be surprises or if people had good advice. I got very little from these books.
Of the books on my list, I enjoyed them all. I wasn’t excited enough about The Three-Body Problem and Shards of the Earth to continue with them, though. I recommend the others.
I am hoping to read more in 2025 with a goal to explore moral philosophy.
